Rudny Altai Belt

Famous VMS belt

East Star Resources has 803.7 km² across five licences: Novo 1 and Novo 2 in this famous Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) belt hosting several world class mines including Glencore’s Ridder mine (see map). The belt has a total endowment of ~1,000 Mt of ore in 58 deposits. The region’s existing transport and processing infrastructure lowers development hurdles.

Five Licences

In the heart of one of the largest provinces in the world

Highlights

  • Multiple mineral occurrences including copper, lead, zinc, gold, tungsten

  • >6 historical gold and base metal deposits within the licence boundaries

  • Historical operating mines such as Chudak (3.1% Cu)

  • Limited exploration since 1988

Ownership (Joint Venture): East Star 80% / State Mining Co 20%

Size: 803.7 km²

Work to date

  • >20 mineral occurrences and a significant amount of soil and stream sediment anomalies

  • geological survey at scale 1:50,000

  • 1984-1987 metallogenic study - ore cluster, where our licences are located was recommended for follow-up VMS exploration

  • 3,640-line km of helicopter electromagnetic survey (HEM) (2022) including infill over three target areas with particularly strong EM conductors

  • Geological exploration underway with some rock chip samples sent for assay

Next steps

  • Drilling in summer 2023

  • Upgrade Exploration Target on the Verkhuba Deposit to JORC-compliant resources

  • Test priority HEM targets

  • Sampling and ground geophysics to refine additional exploration targets
